RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The Science Museum of Virginia is missing an eyeball.
Thieves stole a fabric cover resembling an eyeball Saturday, just 12 hours after the staff wrapped it around the museum's 29-ton Grand Kugel ball to promote an exhibit called "Goose Bumps! The Science of Fear."
Director Richard Conti told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that museum officials wanted to do something fun and different to promote the exhibit.
Conti says the eyeball decoration is valued at $4,000.
The theft is being investigated by Virginia's Capitol Police.
