McDonnell, Democratic PAC rake in funds

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - National Democratic and Republican organizations are pouring money into what each sees as a must-win governor's race in Virginia.

The Democratic Governors Association pumped more than $1.3 million into a its Common Sense Virginia political action committee last week.

The PAC was set up to take the fight to uncontested Republican Bob McDonnell while three Democrats battle toward their June 9 primary.

Common Sense Virginia has received a total of $2.2 million from DGA.

The Republican Governors Association sent McDonnell's campaign $750,000 on Monday, the start of his first television ad buy of the campaign.

McDonnell has received almost $2 million to date from RGA.
