RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Gov. Bob McDonnell has met with House and Senate budget negotiators in an effort to expedite budget talks one day ahead of the General Assembly's scheduled Saturday adjournment.
McDonnell met separately behind closed doors with House and Senate budget conferees early Friday after more than a week of negotiations on a new $70 billion budget.
Negotiators were making progress through Thursday evening but still faced a large workload.
