Woman accused of stabbing man in NC

ELIZABETH CITY, Va. (WAVY) - Officers in Elizabeth City are asking for help in locating a woman who police say stabbed a man numerous times Monday night.

The Elizabeth City Police Department said officers were dispatched to Albemarle Hospital for a report of an assault. When they arrived, they learned the 19-year-old victim was assaulted at an unknown location in the city.

The victim was transported to a hospital in Virginia and is listed in stable condition.

According to police, the victim was stabbed numerous times by 21-year-old Dana Janey Dashiell of Elizabeth City. Police are looking for Dashiell at this time and a warrant has been issued for her arrest on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.

Anyone with information as to Dashiell’s whereabouts is asked to call the Elizabeth City Police Department at 252-335-4321.
