NORTH CAROLINA (WAVY) - The North Carolina Department of Transportation has issued a warning to those who might use ferry service Wednesday.
According to NCDOT, high winds caused by severe weather could cause ferry routes to be suspended. Strong winds through Wednesday could affect water levels on sounds, rivers and inlets.
It is recommended that travelers call ahead to find out if any routes have been suspended:
