DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden is returning to North Carolina -- a state already teeming with President Obama's campaign workers and TV commercials seeking to persuade voters into giving him the state's electoral votes for a second time.
Biden planned to visit Durham on Monday as part of Obama's re-election efforts to differentiate him from Mitt Romney on the economy, taxes and the middle class.
Biden came to Winston-Salem in June and has made several trips to North Carolina since 2008.
The event at the Durham Armory comes one day after Romney and his vice-presidential pick Paul Ryan campaigned in the state.
Romney's and Obama's campaigns have opened dozens of local offices in the state. The campaigns and their supporters already have spent tens of millions of dollars on ads.
