HATTERAS, N.C. (WAVY) - A possible waterspout was spotted over Hatteras Inlet in the Outer Banks of North Carolina Wednesday evening.

There was a tornado warning in that area, that expired at 5 p.m.

Dare County Emergency Management said the waterspouts reported on Hatteras Inlet did not come ashore and said there were no injuries or property damage.

WAVY viewer Timothy McKinley was on the Ocracoke Ferry when the severe weather hit. He emailed a picture he took on his iPhone to WAVY.com (see attached).
