Pedestrian killed in Elizabeth City

ELIZABETH CITY, Va. (WAVY) - A 61-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle in Elizabeth City Monday night.

According to the Elizabeth City Police Department, the crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of East Ehringhaus Street and South Road Street.

An investigation revealed the victim, Rudolph Boyd of Elizabeth City, was walking south from a convenience store when he crossed East Ehringhaus Street and was struck by a 1999 Nissan Altima.

The crash remains under investigation at this time. Any findings will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and recommendation.
