ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - More snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected across the North Carolina mountains.

Forecasters say the latest storm is expected to start early Tuesday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in the southern mountains around Asheville, where forecasters say 4 to 6 inches of snow and sleet could fall, along with a brief period of rain Tuesday afternoon.

That includes the area around Maggie Valley, where a 30-foot tall wall of mud damaged four houses over the weekend. Geologists say this storm could cause more landslides.

The northern mountains and areas south of Asheville are under a winter weather advisory because forecasters say 2 to 4 inches of sleet and snow are possible.
