Memorial service set for fallen chief

KNOTTS ISLAND, N.C. (WAVY) - Funeral arrangements have been made for a volunteer fire chief who passed away while fighting a fire on March 3.

Chief Scott Andrew Morrison, 44, of the Knotts Island Fire Department suffered cardiac arrest during a brush fire. He is survived by his wife Jessica, his daughter Kaitlyn and his son Sean.

Morrison’s family will receive visitors at Holloman-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, located at 524 Cedar Road in Chesapeake on Saturday, March 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. at the Knotts Island Fire Department located at 327 Knotts Island Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knotts Island Fire Department, and condolences can be sent to the Morrison family by emailing chiefmorrisonmemorial@gmail.com .

The North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation supporting the Morrison family and the fire department.
