CHOCOWINITY, N.C. - The body of a Washington, N.C. man was found by a Coast Guard Auxiliary boat about two miles off of Chocowinity Bay on Monday morning.
The man went missing on Sunday evening after he jumped into the water to go swimming. His son called 911 after he lost sight of his father.
Coast Guard units along with the Beaufort Sheriff's Department, Beaufort Fire Department, and Craven County Divers assisted in the search for the man.
Officials have not released further details.
