OREGON INLET, N.C. (WAVY) - A fisherman experiencing heart problems was medevaced by the Coast Guard Monday morning.

According to the Coast Guard, the incident occurred around 10 a.m. 45 miles northeast of the Oregon Inlet.

Crew members of the Ashley Nicole, a 42-foot vessel, contacted the Coast Guard when one of their own started showing signs of heart problems. The Coast Guard dispatched a life boat and an MH_60 Jayhawk helicopter to the scene. The man was transported to Sentara General Hospital in Norfolk.

No word yet on the man's condition.
