Elderly Smithfield man missing

SMITHFIELD, N.C. (WAVY) - The Virginia State Police and the Smithfield North Carolina Police Department have issued a senior alert for a 74-year-old Smithfield man.
According to VSP, Lawrence Leon Parrish was last seen Oct. 21 at 104 Phillips St. in Smithfield wearing a red plaid shirt, blue jeans and possibly a gray "Members Only" jacket. Deputies say he may be on his way to Grottes, Va. and is driving a 2007 champagne-colored Chevrolet Silverado pickup with Virginia tags.
Deputies say Parrish was known to be in the Oilville, Va. area during early morning hours Oct. 23.
