CURRITUCK COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) - Officials evacuated a Currituck school Wednesday due to a non-specific threat made toward faculty.
According to Sandy Kinzel, assistant superintendent with Currituck County Schools, Currituck County High School staff and students were evacuated for approximately 40 minutes Wednesday afternoon.
Kinzel said the Currituck County Sheriff's Department was on scene and cleared the school just after 3 p.m.
Parents were notified of the lockdown via an alert system and administrators will further investigate the incident, according to Kinzel.
