DARE COUNTY, NC (WAVY) - Coast Guard crews have suspended their search for a construction worker who fell from Old Manns Harbor Bridge in Dare County.

Officials say a worker, identified as Sydney Valesco, fell off the Mann's Harbor Bridge while doing some repairs Tuesday morning at around 8 a.m. Another worker then jumped in after him but wasn't able to recover him. Rescue crews pulled the co-worker from the water.

The search continues for the worker who initially fell into the water.

A Coast Guard helicopter and three smaller boats are assisting in the search, as well as a dive team from the Dare County Fire Department.
