RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — House Speaker Thom Tillis is starring in a television commercial for an organization created by Republicans seeking to sway public opinion about what House leaders are doing.
North Carolina House Legislative Partners announced Tuesday the ad is running in the Charlotte and Greensboro TV markets and elsewhere later. The ad features the Mecklenburg County Republican talking about how small businesses are important in creating jobs and helping the economy. Tillis asks viewers to visit a web site and participate in a survey.
A group spokesman did not say how long the ad will run or its cost because plans haven't been completed.
The group is organized under a section of the federal tax law that does not require it to identify donors.
