WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Prison records indicate a man charged in a series of armed robberies in Wilmington also went on a similar six-day crime rampage in Raleigh more than a year ago.
The StarNews of Wilmington reports (http://bit.ly/Yu7QAD ) 29-year-old Eric Greyson Huggins is charged with nine Wilmington armed robberies from Friday through Monday morning. Police said he robbed several convenience stores and motels.
Officers were staking out several late-night businesses Monday when a taxi driver was robbed. Huggins was seen driving and was arrested. He's being held in the New Hanover County jail on $1 million bail.
Department of Correction records show Huggins has several larceny charges in North Carolina dating back to 2007. He also has outstanding charges stemming from a series of armed robberies in Raleigh and Cary in November 2011.
