FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — The driver who crashed into another vehicle while racing on a Fayetteville street and killed two Fort Bragg soldiers has been charged by police in connection with those deaths.
The Fayetteville Observer reports (http://bit.ly/ZVDXsj ) that 21-year-old Nathan Freeman was charged Monday with two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
Fayetteville police said Freeman was racing his 2004 Pontiac when he crossed the center line and struck another vehicle Thursday night.
Authorities identified the victims as 26-year-old Spc. Amber Bostian of Monticello, Ark., and 25-year-old Pfc. Michael Hickey of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
Two other people were injured in the crash.
