RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Gov. Pat McCrory visited with the Rev. Billy Graham during a trip to the North Carolina mountains.
McCrory's office released Friday a photo of the new governor with the evangelist and his son the Rev. Franklin Graham at the elder Graham's home in Montreat.
The governor said in a statement the 94-year-old Graham is "an inspiration" and that they prayed at the end of their meeting. The photo showed Graham wearing a coat and tie and what appeared to be a tube for oxygen under his nose.
Graham was born in Charlotte, where McCrory was mayor for 14 years and where the Graham museum and library is located.
McCrory spent part of Friday reading to school children in Flat Rock and speaking with passers-by and shopping in downtown Black Mountain.
