FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) — Officials at Fort Bragg have declared a water shortage emergency as crews work to repair a leak in the main supply line to the post.
Post spokesman Tom McCollum said repairs are under way by Fayetteville public works employees. He said the break occurred off the post.
McCollum said the post is not without water, but that residents have been asked to limit their water usage to essential purposes. People are being asked not to water their lawns or wash their cars anywhere other than a car wash.
Fayetteville's Public Works Commission spokeswoman Carolyn Justice-Hinson said a leak was discovered in the line on Wednesday and crews took the line out of service to make the repairs. She said the line should be restored by Friday.
