Former owner of NC funeral home charged

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Police have charged the owner of a now-closed funeral home in Hendersonville with obtaining property by false pretenses by writing bad checks.

Fifty-three-year-old Richard J. Mosley of South Park Funeral and Cremation Services has been charged in the case. Mosley faces 16 felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense, two felony counts for writing bad checks and one felony count of trying to obtain property by false pretense.

Mosley also is charged with obtaining embalming chemicals last summer without a proper license.

It was not clear if he has an attorney.
