MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. (AP) — Getting rid of kudzu is always hard, but Mount Holly is going to unleash a herd of goats on the problem.
The Gaston Gazette reported (http://bit.ly/V4WgwX) that Mount Holly City Council voted Monday to use goats to tackle the weeds on city-owned property this spring.
The goats will come from Wells Farm, south of Asheville. The farm has been offering goats for weed control since 2007.
The price will depend on how many acres the city wants covered. The costs include the price of the goats, fencing and transportation.
The city provides the water for the animals.
