DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) - The sheriff's office in Dare County is investigating two fires that damaged homes in the Hatteras Island community of Waves.
On Feb. 5, fire crews were called to 25215 Sea Vista Drive at 11:23 p.m. The fire was extinguished, but the home was severely damaged.
Crews were called to 25216 Midgett Way four days later for another fire at 1 a.m. The home was destroyed.
Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard said the cause of both fires has not been determined. A connection has not been made between the fires at this time.
