WASHINGTON, D.C. - Our current economy has Americans reconsidering their wants versus their needs.
A new Pew Research survey shows fewer people can get by without everyday items such TVs and microwaves.
The same goes for dishwashers and clothes dryers.
And the survey shows these changes come as people's lives change as well.
About 27% of those responding say someone in the house has lost a job.
Another 80% say they've cut back on spending.
