More Ft. Eustis soldiers deploy

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - About 160 soldiers from Fort Eustis departed Wednesday morning to support the Global War on Terrorism.

The soldiers from the 149th Transportation Company left on their one year deployment following a ceremony at Anderson Field House.

The Army initially said the troops would deploy to Iraq where they wwould support camp and forward operating base operations, as well as provide convoy security.  Wednesday, however, the Army said the troops would initially deploy to Kuwait and then be remissioned to an undisclosed country

Wednesday's departure followed the March 2nd deployment of around 50 Ft. Eustis soldiers from the 359th Inland Cargo Transfer Company, 6th Transportation Battalion, 7th Sustainment Brigade.

Since March 3rd, nearly 200 soldiers have returned to Ft. Eustis from overseas deployments.  They include soldiers from the 202nd Military Police Company and the 510th Human Resources Company Headquarters.
