A traveling exhibition called "Eyes Wide Open: The Cost of War to Virginia" displayed 125 pairs of boots representing fallen servicemen and women at Nauticus Wednesday.

The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) in cooperation with Norfolk OffBase and the Peace and Social Justice Committee of the Virginia Beach Friends is a widely acclaimed exhibit illustrating the human cost of war.

The exhibit was displayed at Nauticus on Veteran's Day from 9am until 5pm.

Gold Star families were invited to attend the exhibit. And visitors were invited to add their own tributes and other memorials.

AFSC has also recently established a national exhibit for the Afghanistan conflict. That memorial is currently touring the United States. In Norfolk, the exhibit seeks to honor casualties from the Afghanistan conflict with candles representing service members killed while serving in the Afghanistan theatre.
