CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Rose Tuazon, whose son was killed while serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq, was presented with a personalized Honor and Remember Flag Friday during a ceremony at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Chesapeake.

Pfc. Andrew L. Tuazon was killed on May 10, 2004 in Mosul, Iraq. A 2001 graduate of Chesapeake's Western Branch High School, Tuazon was serving with the 293rd Military Police Company, 3rd Military Police Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, when he was killed by hostile fire while on guard duty. Tuazon had also served in Afghanistan.

The Honor and Remember flag presented to Rose Tuazon commemorates her son's service and sacrifice made in the defense of his country.

The Honor and Remember organization, a Chesapeake-based non-profit group, is leading the cause to have the Honor and Remember Flag officially sanctioned as the national flag to honor the lives lost in defense of our national freedoms. The organization says the flag honors all military lives lost, not only in action but also in service.

Also Friday, Greenlawn became the first recognized private cemetery in the country to continuously fly the Honor and Remember Flag.

Thursday in Virginia Beach, the Honor and Remember organization presented a personalized flag to Martha Ann Consolvo, whose son, Captain John Consolvo, has been listed as missing in action since his aircraft was struck during a bombing mission in Vietnam on May 7, 1972.
