USS James E. Williams deploys

NORFOLK, Va. - The guided missile destroyer USS James E. Williams deployed to the sixth and fifth Fleet areas of operations Monday from Naval Station Norfolk as the lead element of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group.
The Williams will conduct maritime security operations in the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf regions, and work with international maritime forces to ensure security and awareness in the maritime domain.
The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer is commanded by Cmdr. Paul Marquis.
The USS James E. Williams has a crew of about 275 Sailors.
