Tractor trailer crashes on US-460

SUFFOLK, Va. - A tractor trailer overturned on US-460 Tuesday morning at around 5 a.m. and police expect it will take several hours to clear the scene.

The accident caused minor delays on US-460 at Myrtle, between Windsor and Suffolk.

At around 9 a.m. police opened one lane of traffic in each direction, but told WAVY.com most of US-460 would remain closed until the truck is uprighted, which could take hours.

According to police, the tractor trailer's driver was passing another vehicle when he lost control and hit a utility pole. Police charged the driver with reckless driving and failure to maintain proper control.

Police tell WAVY.com the driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
