Norfolk teacher arrested on porn charge

A Granby High School teacher remains in custody on child pornography charges.

Police arrested Shon Walter on April 3rd.  During a court appearance Tuesday, Walter wavied bond. He is scheduled to appear in court again on April 15th for an arraignment.

WAVY.com obtained the indictment which states that on five occassions, dating back to March 2005, Walter allegedly received or possessed Child Pornography.

Walter faces ten counts, which include Receipt of Material containing Child Pornography, Possession of Material Containing Child Pornography and Criminal Forfeiture.

According to the document police seized a desktop computer, two hard drives, an external hard drive and a compact disk on December 11, 2008, from Walter's home.

Granby High School's website lists Walter as a member of the school's Career and Technical Education Dept. He is on leave without pay from Norfolk Public Schools. Walter has been with the school system since 1989 and at Granby High School since 1995, a school spokesperson told WAVY.com.
