NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk Police have made an arrest in Tuesday night's homicide in the Wards Corner area of the City.

Police tell WAVY.com 19-year-old Terry Ryan Robinson was taken into custody at around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Police believe Robinson shot a man in front of Del Vecchio's Pizza. The victim's parents stood just feet from his body, they felt anguish.

"I don't know how I'm going to survive without him," said Angereia Bridges.

"He's a good kid, doesn't fight, never been a bad kid," said Michael Bridges.

The victim's parents tell WAVY.com they believe it had something to do with a girl.

"I cannot function without my child over some silly stuff," said Angereia Bridges.

Bridges says her son was 20-years-old, had gone to Granby High School, had a job and was getting ready to join the military.

"For someone to take a gun and shoot my child when my child is not the type to grow up in an environment where he's going to take a gun and take another one's life, that's the part that hurts because my child knows better than that," said Bridges.

As police investigated, dozens of people stood outside and watched.

Bridges worries most about her son's younger siblings at home.

"I have to go home and tell my 5-year-old daughter and my 10-year-old son that their brother, who takes care of them, takes them to buy candy and takes them to the store is never coming home, never coming home," said Bridges.

Robinson has been charged with Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
