Thousands March for Babies

WAVY-TV 10's Kerri Furey and Jimmy Ray of Eagle 97.3 walked for five days and a total distance of 90 miles to help make a difference in the lives of babies. The walk culminated Sunday morning at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, for the March for Babies.

Day 1
Wed., April 22nd
Start time 7 a.m.

James City County on Route 143
Enter Newport News up around the Naval Weapons Station Gate (where 143 crosses I-64)
Follow 143/Jefferson Ave, cross Oyster Point
Stop at LFCU Oyster Point (around 11 a.m.)

Day 2
Thurs. April 23rd
Start time 6 a.m.

Newport News at Patrick Henry Mall
Jefferson Ave. Left onto Oyster Point Rd.
Enter York County up around Kiln Creek
Take Oyster Point to Rt. 17/George Washington Hwy.
Turn right onto Magruder Blvd./134
Enter Hampton at the city line
Left at Hardy Cash, Right at Executive Dr.
On to Cunningham Dr. to Todds Lane
Left at Aberdeen Rd and Right onto Mercury Blvd.
Enter Newport News up around the old Newmarket Mall
End at Warwick Blvd. at the Mercury Blvd. overpass (around 10:30 a.m.)

Day 3
Fri. April 24th
Start time 6 a.m.

Isle of White side of the James River Bridge (Race Trac gas station)
Enter Suffolk at the city line
Enter Chesapeake up around the 664 intersection
Turns into Western Branch Blvd.
Stop in Western Branch (around 11 a.m.)

 

Resume walk (after about 2 hours….around 1 p.m.)
Travel down Rt.17/ High Street
Enter Portsmouth up around the Churchland Bridge on High Street
Turn left onto George Washington Hwy. Toward the Midtown Tunnel
Stop at the weigh station (around 3 p.m.)

Day 4
Sat. April 25th
Start time 9 a.m.

Norfolk. On Brambleton Ave. across from Sentara Norfolk Hospital
Left on Colley, Right on Olney, Left on Duke, then follow Va Beach Bvld.
Pass Military Circle and Janaf
Enter Virginia Beach at city line
Continue down Va Beach Blvd. until Rosemont Rd. Stop. (around 11:30 a.m.)

Day 5
Sun. April 26th
Start time 6 a.m.

Virginia Beach. Denny’s on Virginia Beach Blvd at Princess Ann Plaza
Follow the Blvd all the way down to Atlantic Ave. Then turn left.
Travel to 24th Street Park. End. (around 8 a.m.)

Jimmy Ray and Kerri Furey join the Virginia Beach March of Dimes Walk.
