YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Two high school students are facing drug charges after York County Sheriff's deputies caught them engaging in possible drug activity.

Officials tell WAVY.com the 18 year olds were in a parked car in the Magruder Elementary School parking lot at around 6 p.m. on March 11 when they say there was enough "probable cause" to charge the two.

Kevin W. Clark of Schonner Blvd and Alexander L. Powers of Mayflower Drive were both charged with two felony counts each of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Possession with Intent to Distribute within 1000-feet of a school. Clark has been charged with one additional felony count of Intent to Distribute a Schedule IV Controlled Substance.

School spokesperson Betsy Overkamp-Smith confirmed both Clark and Powers are 12th grade students at  Bruton High School. She said if it is determined that they violated the conduct code for drugs on school property, the school will follow disciplinary actions based on school guidelines.
