CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A Chesapeake child hopes doctors at Yale University have the prescription for her medical mystery.
You probably remembering hearing about Lauren Johnson when we introduced you to her two weeks ago. The 12-year-old started sneezing about a month ago after she got sick and hasn't stopped since.
Doctors think Lauren may have PANDAS , that's Pediatric Auto-immune Neuro-psychiatric Disorders. Symptoms include the quick onset of "tics" like sneezing.
On Wednesday, Lauren and her family will meet with a doctor well
versed on PANDAS.
Lauren's mother spoke with WAVY.com Tuesday night from New
York, she said, "You learn so much so quickly. I mean you have to,
it's your children that you're talking about. And when it comes to
your children, you'll move mountains to figure out what you can do
to help them."
On Monday, Lauren and her family will visit doctors at Yale
University.
"I really hope that there's going to be a good diagnosis and there's gonna be, we're gonna find a diagnosis and resolve this...we're gonna have a really big party at the end of this to celebrate my daughter not sneezing anymore...," Lauren's mom continued.
We'll keep you posted on the outcome. Look for updates on-air and online.
