HANOVER, County - A Norfolk man was killed by a wrong way driver in Hanover County on December 30.

Sargent Molnar with the Virginia State Police tells WAVY.com that they were called to the scene of a wrong way driver on Interstate 295 northbound approximately 1/4 mile south of Pole Green Road.

The investigation into the fatal accident has revealed that a Dodge Ram, driven by Nickolas Sickal, was traveling southbound on Interstate 295 in the northbound lanes.

Sickal, 19, of Barhamsville, struck a Cadillac Deville driven by William Goode, Jr., head on in the two center lanes of the Interstate.

Goode, 51, of Norfolk, died on the scene. Goode's 8-year old daughter was riding in the Cadillac and sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. She was wearing her seat belt.

Goode's daughter was transported by ambulance to VCU Medical Center. State Police are still investigating into whether Goode was wearing his seat belt.

Sickal was injured in the crash and was also transported to VCU Medical Center. Sickal sustained serious non-life threatening injuries and his not been released from the hospital at this time.

It is unknown whether Sickal was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
