HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Kameka Sharae Holliday, 24, of Hampton, died early Sunday morning after she fell in the road on N. King Street and was hit by a passing car.
Police say Holliday was walking southbound on North King Street near the Bayberry Court intersection when she fell in the roadway and was struck by a 2008 Chevy Cobalt traveling northbound, according to a released statement from Hampton Police.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 2008 Chevy Cobalt was at the scene, along with the driver, after the accident took place. This was not a hit-and-run accident.
However, police are continuing to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information that will assist them in their investigation to call the Hampton police division at 727-6111 or the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
