NORFOLK, Va. (AP/WAVY) - A Virginia woman accused in the starvation death of her 10-year-old son in Oklahoma has waived a bond hearing.
Thirty-one-year-old Candice C. Holloway of Norfolk appeared before a federal judge on Tuesday. The Virginian-Pilot reports U.S. marshals will transport her to Oklahoma City, where the case will be heard.
A federal indictment unsealed last week accused Holloway and her boyfriend of first-degree murder. It said they withheld food from the boy for months until he starved to death May 5 at Fort Sill, Okla.
The boyfriend, Connell C. Williams, is an Army private at Fort Sill. The 32-year-old Williams was arrested last week at the Army base in southwestern Oklahoma.
The indictment said the couple was not married and Williams is not the children's biological father.
