VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A man on trial for the slaying of two sailors outside of the Ocean's Cabaret in January 2007 was found guilty on two counts of first degree murder, a jury declared Tuesday afternoon.

Police say Steven Breaux, the man convicted Tuesday, and Charles Butler shot and killed two sailors outside the club, across from the Oceana Naval Air Station. Victims 24-year-old Mark Vanhorn and 26-year-old Michael Porter died at the scene.

Breaux was also found guilty of use of a firearm for both victims, and guilty of attempted murder and use of a firearm on Hector Diaz.

The jury recommended a total of 93 years in prison for Breaux--35 years for the two victims that were killed, 10 years for the attempted murder charged, and 13 years for three separate gun charges.

Butler's trial is scheduled to begin on March 9. He faces two counts of first degree murder, two counts of violation of probation, three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, one count of attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
