CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A wanted man barricaded himself inside a home in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to the 100 block of Country Club Blvd. around 12:15 p.m. for a domestic call for service and encountered 34-year-old Jeremy Breeden, who had warrants for abduction and assault.

Breeden barricaded himself inside a residence and refused to come out.

After speaking with police negotiators for over an hour, Breeden surrendered and was taken to Chesapeake City Jail.

During the standoff, residents in the neighborhood were told to stay inside their homes and the road was closed to traffic. The road was reopened after Breeden surrendered.
