Thousands walk for babies

5-day, 90-mile walk ended Sunday at Oceanfront

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - For the last five days, WAVY.com has followed along as 10 On Your Side's Kerri Furey and 97.3 The Eagle's Jimmy Ray walked across Hampton Roads.

From James City County to Virginia Beach, they walked for a great cause - the March of Dimes' Walk For Babies.

The five-day, 90-mile walk ended Sunday morning at the Oceanfront where thousands lined up for this years event.

A March of Dimes spokesperson said they hoped to raise $350,000 for babies this year. As of Monday, spokeswoman Susan Smith said the event raised about $321,000.

Today's walk may be over, but it's not too late to donate to the cause. Click here to make a donation.
