NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Friends and family gathered at Norfolk's Town Point Park Saturday night to honor the memory of officer Victor Decker who was shot and killed while off-duty at a Virginia Beach nightclub last October.
May is an especially hard month for his wife Dawn Decker. May 15 was their two year wedding anniversary and Saturday would have been Victor's 26th birthday.
"It's been a roller coaster of emotions, just trying to keep everything as even as possible," Dawn Decker told WAVY.com.
She said the the gathering of friends and comrades illustrates what she already knows in her heart, "it shows me once again what an amazing man he was," she said.
Police have not made any arrests in relation to Victor Decker's slaying in October 2010.
