NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - All those potholes that have been pummeling our cars lately are supposed to be plugged up immediately by order of the governor. On Tuesday, Governor Bob McDonnell dropped the hammer on Virginia Department of Transportation demanding the agency repair highway holes STAT.
WAVY.com saw VDOT crews repairing potholes on I-264 eastbound Thursday and VDOT said they will continue working double-time for the governor's pothole blitz for the rest of the month.
"It's great! Fix them," said one driver.
Another motorist added, "I'm glad that they're finally fixing the potholes because I don't know how many bad tires and everything else are out there."
