VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Beach police have arrested a 47-year-old Chesapeake woman with prescription fraud. Police tell WAVY.com a Hilltop pharmacy contacted them when the woman tried to fill a fake prescription there.
Roberta Buckman, of the 1000 block of Fairhaven Road in Chesapeake, was arrested Friday and charged with obtaining a prescription by fraud and three counts of obtaining drugs by fraud, according to court records online.
Buckman is accused of obtaining a prescription pad and writing prescriptions under false names, said Officer Margie Hobbs, a police spokeswoman, in an e-mail. According to court records, the fake prescription was obtained July 29 and the prescriptions filled in August, October and November.
Buckman's since been released on $3,000 bond and has a hearing scheduled for April 22. Her arraignment was Wednesday.
