VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A group of experts gathered in Virginia Beach Thursday to discuss wind energy.
Beach Mayor Will Sessoms declared the week as "Offshore Wind Week in Virginia Beach."
As part of the celebration, wind experts gathered at the Virginia Beach Convention Center to teach residents about the benefits and challenges presented by Virginia's offshore wind energy development.
"This is the future, this is the way we need to go to create new energy jobs, clean energy jobs, and also to address climate change," Glen Besa with the Sierra Club of Virginia said.
The meeting was free and open to the public.
