VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Two Virginia Beach teens were honored Tuesday evening for their heroic efforts with the Virginia Beach Life Savers award.
Sixteen-year-old Adam Belcher and 15-year-old James Bracy were body boarding at the Oceanfront in August when they saw a man and his two small children struggling in a rip current.
The teens rushed over to the family and pulled them to safety.
"I feel like a hero," Bracy said. "It was all in God's timing that we were out there. It was all last second."
"It's definitely something to talk about in the future when I get older and say, 'Hey, guess what me and a close friend did when we were at the beach?'," Belcher said.
