VB resolution affirms Oceana support

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach City Council voiced their support for the Navy and Naval Air Station Oceana at their Tuesday night meeting.
City council members passed a resolution " affirming the City’s strong support that the Naval Air Station Oceana remain the East Coast Master Jet Base...", according to the meeting's agenda .
Council also urged the Congressional delegation to continue its support.
On Friday, April 6, a F/A-18D jet from Oceana suffered a "catastrophic mechanical malfunction” and crashed into a Virginia Beach apartment complex.
