VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - The cause of a fire contained to a Virginia Beach church's bathroom is being called suspicious.
According to Battalion Chief Patrick Humphries with the Virginia Beach Fire Department, firefighters responded to the Old Donation Episcopal Church on Witchduck Road at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Friday, Battalion Chief Tim Riley with the Virginia Beach Fire Department told WAVY.com the fire was at the daycare portion of the church. The fire was set to paper product.
Crews managed to contain the fire inside of a bathroom. The building suffered moderate smoke damage.
Humphries said the cause of the fire is suspicious but remains under investigation.
