VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Officials say a brush fire in Virginia Beach last week was caused by a camp fire.

According to Battalion Chief James Ramsey with the Virginia Beach Fire Department, the fire remains under investigation.

It was located off Atwoodtown Road and Artesia Way and officials kept the fire burning overnight last Tuesday night because it was heading toward two creeks inside a wildlife refuge.
