VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A 16-year-old girl suffering from cancer for 10 years has passed away.
WAVY.com spoke with Becca Parcells in March during the "Ya Think Ya Fancy" fashion show, hosted by More Than Boobs Cancer Foundation. She loved the color pink and told WAVY.com her favorite animal was a monkey.
Becca died Tuesday after her long battle with cancer. Despite her diagnosis, she continued to have a positive attitude.
"Yeah, I guess I would say I have a lot of brains, because I had brain cancer," Becca told WAVY.com in March.
Becca’s family will hold a celebration of her life at London Bridge Baptist Church located at 2460 Potters Rd. in Virginia Beach Saturday at 4 p.m. Those attending should wear pink in Becca’s honor.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be sent to Special Love: 117 Youth Development Court in Winchester, Va. 22602. Their phone number is 888-930-2707.
