Suspect robs two banks in one day

Wells Fargo and BB&T banks robbed

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man who robbed two banks in one day.

Police said on Tuesday afternoon, the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 699 Independence Boulevard, and the BB&T Bank, located at 6506 Indian River Road, were robbed within an hour and a half of each other.

In both robberies, the suspect handed the teller a note demanding money.

Surveillance photos from both locations show the suspect wearing sunglasses and a gray hooded sweatshirt.

No one was injured in either robbery.
